Fine Art, Thesis: What is happening here? [exploits of the nonhuman]
My thesis was a proposal for anthrodecentric art, or in other terms, art that recognises the interrelations of material things. In order to develop works of anthrodecentric art, I created the methodology of non-Cartesian re-presentation to evaluate potential inputs while maintaining a constant focus on the viewer’s experience. The purpose was to recognise the value of ‘what is’ and the intrinsic interconnectedness of ‘what is.’ Through repeated experimentation I was able to identify inputs which could affect viewer response, shifting (even momentarily) their perspectives of value of relational being, while engaging in long-term thinking regarding waste, resource efficiency, circular economy and natural capital.
